Writings from Prison

Maybe I am dreaming. But dreams do come true Today, it is possible to find a political solution to the Kurdish problem within the framework of democracy and within the context of existing borders. Beyond borders and divisions imposed by language, religion and culture, we share certain universal values of freedom and human rights. It is in the name of these values that you the European Parliamentl have honored me with the Sokharov Prize, and it is in the name of these same values that I ask for your help to put an end to the tragedy of my people, and to build a democratic, plural istic, and European Turkey".
