I want to refer to a fact that today's readers lack information about the biography of most of the historians.
That's why we thought about the necessity of recording some historians' biographies in this book and present them to our respectable readers.
If the name of a certain historian is missing here, it doesn't mean that he was neglected, but the reason is that they are unknown to us. We have recorded only 30 names in this first edition. The rest will be introduced in the coming editions.

PREFACE

By the name of Allah, the passionate, the merciful when you observe the size of this book and the number of the historians, you will notice a gap between these two aspects. From this gap or difference arises a question: why Does writing about the biographies of some historians whosd number does not exceed 50-60 persons cover such a big book? For a questioner the biography is the Name, nick name, date of birth, educational level and writings ...etc. Writing about Such things only covers a few pages.

In fact this perspective is true when the book aims at that. Dealing with this aspect, Ahmed Teqi says: ’’the real biography is the cases which are related to the nation and reflected in the historians actions .’’ In the viewpoint of this conception we have focused on the events and developments of historians’ period and lifetime. Foriegner’s observations of Kurds and their homeland on the episodes of that period about politics, educational standards, social life and advancement of printing will be understood. In fact, the book consists of two aspects; biography and summary of the history of the historian’s period.

I want to refer to a fact that today’s readers lack information about the biography of most of the historians. That’ s why we thought about the necessity of recording some historians’ biographies in this book and present them to our respectable readers.

If the name of a certain historian is missing here, it doesn’t mean that he was neglected, but the reason is that they are unknown to us. We have recorded only 30 names in this first edition. The rest will be introduced in the coming editions.

I tried to mention them according to the sequence of the historians times. But due to the availability of their biographies during the writing of the book we couldn’t adhere to that. We Listed the names alphabetically. I started writing these biographies on July ,7th,1996.

Acknowledgement

In the case where history is the recording of the events of past and ancient times-with their disasters, people and events, the contemporary period is its strength, retainer and proceeding.

History gives depth to its occurrences and prolongs heroism, show law and the will of the activist. It is the designer and the guide.
The power of history comes true through fulfilling the expectations of strife with dimensions of the ideas.

History constructs the great epic of humanity, which has been enhanced with history -ascends from the depth of past times towards the borders of today and the future. A hundred centuries of history’s’ inheritance and culture lies there to tell us about the tales following the prince (Sharafkhani Betlisy), the pioneer. History shuts the old pages of the past and turns up the pages of the present and evaluates the stature of the Kurdish people. As you face time, its ups and downs, global instability-prove that historians, linguists, geographers and scientists-these are definitions of the nation. They are visible colors on the mountaintops. They reveal the cultural and scientific levels. History shows the progress of the nation by the scales of century in order to build the future. It is a proof that man is the main factor and the developing power.

The biographies written by the historian Osman Seid Qadir are of high eloquence and taste.
These historians prove these words and stands from Ahmed Dawud, Abu Hasan Izzadin, Abu Barakat (Mustaufi Arbili), Shamsadin, the father of historians. Sharaf khani Betlisi, Mala Mahmud Bayazidi, the great Kurdish historians, Amin Zeki Beg, the unknown soldier Damaw Mukryani, Aladdin Sujadi, sheikh Mohamed Mardokhi, the striver Mohamed Ali Awni, Jaladat Badirkhan, suraya Badirkhan, kamaran Badirkhan, Ali Saedo Gorani, Salih Qaftan, Ihsan Noori pasha, Tofiq Wahbi, Ahmed Khwaja, Kareem Zand, Hassan Mahmud HamaKareem. Abdulraqeeb Yousif, Kamal Noori Maruf, Dr. kamal Mazher, Dr. Jamal Rasheed, Dr. Fuad Hama Khursheed, Mohsin Mohamed Husein, Dr. Abdulrahman Qasmlu, Dr. Azeez Shemzini, Dr. kaws Qeftan, Abu Bakir Barzani, Jalal Talabani, Mahmad Mala Izzet, Remzi Qazaz, Nawsherwan Mustafa, Salah Sadulla, Zuber Bilal, Ibrahim Omer, Rasheed Yasmi, Seddiq Borakey Sefizada, Jalaladdin, Shefiqa Leilan, Rahimi Qazi, Ahmed Osman, Husein Berzinji, Abdul Aziz Yamulki, Osman Uzeri, Abdul Razaq Dunbuli.

These are examples of the living identity of the Kurdish people of all times and all languages in this work which is similar to Aladdin Sajadi’s smasterpieces.
I would like to tell them “Well done!”

A Word About History

It is important for man to understand himself. Time begins when one owns himself. Then the lifeline can be seen through history. Through the observation of history the new generation gets acquainted with the ancestors, actions and passes them to the new generation. This history of life contains all sciences, daily incidents and social developments.

It has its own specialty. Also the writers of these subjects have their own great importance. Each is the chevalier of his time, no power could or can impose its will on their writings. So they had no opportunity to publish their works during their lives. Hulago was very mighty, nevertheless he couldnot return the Iraqis’ educational and enlightenment levels to the times of the Sumerians and Akkadians. Likewise, all the tyranny and will of the present rulers couldn’t affect the historians’ works. Here is an example: Once Napoleon was informed that one of his senior officers had been killed. Napoleon ..Wondered what his last words had been .He was told that; He had said nothing because of his great pains”. Napoleon orders that it be written that his last words were: long live the commander Napoleon. He could force his secretary to write these words, but he could never record them on the pages of History. In order to be more acquainted with the science of history and its …
